Mary Evans Tissue Paper Painting Workshop
Join artist Mary Evans for this tissue paper painting workshop. Using PVA glue and an assortment of coloured tissue paper, you will learn to create scenes that reference traditional landscape paintings.
Join artist Nick Goss as he guides you through his watercolour approach and the inspirations behind his work. Drawing on his loose, fluid style, Nick will demonstrate how to work with watercolour to create artworks that blur the lines between the real and the imagined. This workshop is an opportunity to let go and experiment with a relaxed approach to drawing and painting. Using Nick’s prompts, you’ll be invited to dream up your own mythical island and create a piece that becomes a source of escapism and beauty.

Nick Goss (b. Bristol, 1981) is an Anglo-Dutch painter whose figurative works balance documentary specificity with an underlying sense of ambiguity. Drawing on photographic or archival sources, his paintings evoke tangible places and experiences while retaining a liminal, dreamlike uncertainty.
Built slowly in thin, muted layers over screen-printed images, the works blur time, memory, and nostalgia through subtle shifts of focus that both coalesce and fragment form. Though they sometimes verge on abstraction, their mood remains distinctly physical and present.
Goss has exhibited widely in Europe and the United States and his work is held in major collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
