Philanthropy

Share our vision

As a registered charity, each year we must raise at least £1m in addition to our trading income and the small annual subsidy we receive from the Arts Council England.

Our passionate and committed philanthropic supporters play an essential role in making the work of Hospital Rooms possible, and they have a transformative impact on our work. Individual donations are critical to each and every aspect of our charity, and have the ability to make a real and tangible difference to what we can achieve.

The generosity of our donors allows us to develop our arts programme in mental health units with confidence, empowering us to to bring the highest quality artwork and creativity activity into these spaces, to drive their importance into public consciousness and to catalyse a fundamental shift in the way we consider and treat people with the most difficult of mental health diagnoses.

In particular, our Major Donors offer leadership philanthropic support, providing the financial underpinning to launch new creative initiatives, plan fearlessly for future years, seize exciting new opportunities when they arise, and confront unanticipated challenges, all the while forging a personal and enduring relationship with Hospital Rooms, our executive management, and the artists we work with.

Joining the Hospital Rooms project has been lifechanging for me. The opportunities I’ve had to meet new people, learn new skills and spend time being creative has had enormous positive effects on my mental wellbeing and recovery. Without Hospital Rooms I don’t think I would have recovered and got back to normal life as quickly as I did.
