Chantal Joffe
Chantal Joffe is a London based painter who is known for her striking portraits of women.
Working both from life with sitters in her studio, and from photographs, she uses broad, fluid brushstrokes to create work ranging from a few inches square to ten feet high. Her paintings are often intimate and imbued with humour, representing women from diverse walks of life. She has also recently created a major new public work for the Elizabeth line station at Whitechapel, London.
