• Panel Talk: 10 Years of Hospital Rooms 9 September | 4–5.30pm

  Join Katy Wickremesingshe, entrepreneur and founder of The Wick, for a special anniversary panel discussion and cultural event.

  Joined by Co-Founder of Hospital Rooms Niamh White MBE and artist Alberta Whittle, the panel will reflect on the impact of art intervention in restricted mental health spaces over the last decade, explore the evolving relationship between artists, gallery and advocacy and ask how the arts sector can build on these practices to create more resilient spaces of care and creativity for the future.

• BSL Tour: 12 September | 11am–12pm

  Join artist Rubbena Aurangzeb – Tariq for a British Sign Language tour of Hospital Rooms ‘Host | Guest’ exhibition at Victoria Miro.

  Rubbena Aurangzeb – Tariq is an artist and facilitator based in London, whose work explores culture, deaf identity and as a deaf woman of Pakistani heritage, the multifaceted nature of being a ‘minority within a minority’. Through painting and installations, she creates visual representations of language and emotional expression through her use of colour and form.

• Workshop with Xavier Laurent Leopold: 12 September | 2–4pm

  Join artist Xavier Laurent Leopold for a hands on creative workshop exploring figurative art, ancestral narratives and sculpture at Victoria Miro, as a part of the Hospital Rooms ‘Host | Guest’ exhibition.

  Xavier Laurent Leopold is a multidisciplinary artist and author based at Studio Voltaire in South London. Rooted in faith, memory, and ancestral experience, his practice moves between abstraction, figuration, and sculpture, exploring how identity, time, and legacy are embodied through material and form. Drawing on his Sierra Leonean and Martinican heritage, his work reflects on endurance, transformation, and the search for the transcendent.

• Access Information

  Host|Guest includes murals, artworks, written information and exhibition booklets. The gallery is wheelchair accessible, although there are no public toilets. Two televisions show films with low-level sound, and an invigilator will be available to answer questions about the exhibition.

  For visitors who prefer a quieter experience, a Low Sensory Morning takes place on 4 September, 10am–12pm. A BSL Tour takes place on 12 September, 11am–12pm.
