How to Create a Painted Paper Trinket Box

Description:

Join us for the exciting launch of Hospital Rooms’ refreshed Digital Art School! To celebrate this significant milestone, we are hosting a series of three live events over the next year, starting with our first live webinar with Ken Nwadiogbu on 30th May 2024. Ken will lead us through an inspiring and engaging art experience, showing us how to paint and build a watercolour paper box.

Materials used:

– Ruler
– A3 or A4 paper (watercolour paper, if you have it)
– Acrylic paint (yellow, orange, and red, or any colour combination of your choice!)
– 1 x paintbrush
– A gluestick
– Cup of water to hand
– A palette or paper plate for mixing your colours

Ken Nwadiogbu

Ken Nwadiogbu (b.1994, Lagos, Nigeria) is a self taught multidisciplinary artist, based in Lagos, Nigeria. A trained civil engineer, he soon pivoted to fine art, first embracing hyperrealism and charcoal drawing before expanding his creative horizon to more conceptual works and a wider array of techniques, including acrylic painting, sculpture and installation. His works are inspired by iconic American contemporary art figures such as J.M. Basquiat, Kehinde Wiley, Toyin Ojih Odutola and Kerry James Marshall
